The North Dakota Center for Distance Education (ND CDE),
North Dakota’s online education service provider, wants you to be aware that
now is the time to enroll students in ND CDE’s, “College Entrance Exam
Preparation” (CEEP) course.
The course significantly improves the ACT Test performance of high school
Juniors taking the ACT Test for the first time, and it enables dramatic
increases in scores* for Seniors retaking the ACT Test**. The course is
completed entirely online. A key feature of the course is that students’
current capabilities are assessed in reading comprehension, writing, math, and
study skills. Science Reasoning is not addressed. Based on the assessment, the
courseware provides a learning path for the students to follow. The course
employs multiple methods of instruction, including video streaming,
problem-solving, and focused applications. Lessons are followed by practice
tests that are computer graded and provide immediate feedback. In addition, ND
CDE provides a help desk for additional guidance and assistance.
This year ND CDE has partnered with Shmoop (http://www.shmoop.com/) to provide students
enrolled in the CEEP course access to their ACT prep materials, which includes
four practice tests for each of the five ACT subject areas: Math, Science
Reasoning, English, Reading and Writing.
Students using this in conjunction with the CEEP course
will be much more knowledgeable and prepared for the actual exam.
