Health Occupations & Professions Exploration (HOPE Camp)



HOPE Camp offers students 3 days of hands-on-activities and classes to explore a wide variety of health professions and health career opportunities while becoming familiar with the hospital and college campus settings.  Most students attending the camp are considering college to become a health professional. 

The camp is open for rural students entering 10th- 12th grades in fall 2013.

HOPE Camp provides students the opportunity to:
  • ·         Explore a variety of health careers through interactive workshops
  • ·         Learn from health professionals and college instructors/students
  • ·         Identify the skills needed for careers in health care
  • ·         Experience dorm living and campus life   


      Dates:                         June 23 - June 26 (check in 7-8:30pm 6/23 check out 10-11am 6/26)
Cost:                           $100 per student *
Transportation:          Student is responsible for own transportation to and from camp.  While at camp transportation will be provided.
Supplies:                    Students need to bring bedding and toiletry items, towel, swim suit any personal items needed, water bottle, medication etc.
Included:                    Room (dorm room based on double occupancy), meals, chaperones, fees for camp supplies and recreation activities.  Each student will receive a t-shirt to wear while participating.

Be A Blogger--Earn a $1,000 Scholarship


Bank of North Dakota recruiting bloggers with $1,000 scholarships!!!

The College Planning Center at Bank of North Dakota is recruiting high school juniors and seniors; college freshmen, sophomores and juniors; and parents of high school and college students to blog about the college planning and college experience.

Ten people will be selected to blog 3-4 times each month, August 2013 – June 2014. In return, the student bloggers will receive a $1,000 college scholarship for the 2013-14 or 2014-15 academic year. For the parents selected as bloggers, the scholarship will be given to the child attending college. The scholarship can be used at any accredited college in the United States.

“Our goal is to make higher education more accessible to North Dakotans,” states Wally Erhardt, Director of the College Planning Center. “The blog will offer practical information and every day experiences for students and parents so they are more comfortable with this important step.

One Day Leadership Conference At Jamestown College

JC's first annual student leadership conference will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 and you are invited to join in for a day of learning & leadership skill building in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

This Leadership Conference is sponsored and hosted by the Jamestown College Student Senate.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We have provided the schedule below for your convenience.
The Keynote speaker is Liz Hunt. The title of her discussion is “Differences between Intelligent and Normal Communication.” Liz is Executive Assistant to the President of Jamestown College and Communication faculty member.
Lunch will be provided by Jamestown College Admissions.
