2 Valley City Eagles Scholarship Opportunities

Valley City Eagles Aerie 2192 is looking for applicants for it's annual scholarship program. Scholarships will be awarded to area graduating high school seniors that plan on furthering their education by attending a college or tech school during the 2014/15 school year. Scholarships will be no less than $250.

APPLICANT PARENTS NEED NOT BE MEMBERS OF EAGLES AERIE 2192 FOR SCHOLARSHIP CONSIDERATION


There is also an additional scholarship available to an area girl who is willing to represent Aerie 2192 as 'Miss Eagles Aerie 2192 2014'. She must be willing to represent the Aerie at area parades when the Aerie float is used, Eagles Aerie Family Picnic, and the 2014 Awards Banquet. The award for this honor will be no less than $350.

APPLICANTS FOR THIS AWARD MUST HAVE A PARENT THAT IS A MEMBER OF AERIE 2192 OR AERIE 2192 AUXILIARY.


The application form can be obtained from the counselor bulletin board. Applications must be returned to the Eagles Aerie 2192 no later than February 28th to be eligible for either award.

HOPE (Health Occupations & Professions Exploration)

HOPE is a great opportunity for any student considering a career in the health professions. If you have a child who has talked about going into nursing or any other health related profession, encourage them to check this out! Details are as follows:

HOPE is planned for June 15-19, 2014 at Sanford Health and NDSU in Fargo.
HOPE is open for rural students entering 10th-12th grades in fall 2014.
HOPE is an overnight camp.
HOPE is a great hands-on opportunity for rural high school students to explore health care careers.
HOPE is interactive workshops, panel discussions, and simulations.
HOPE is a taste of what "college-life" is like.
HOPE is exciting, educational, eye-opening and FUN!
HOPE is accepting registrations soon.

NDSU Workshops for Creative Teens

NDSU has a new workshop series available to students grades 9-12. All workshops are held the first weekend of each month and are FREE to all students! Each workshop is designed to introduce students to a process, technique or special interest of the instructor.

Space is limited so if you are interested, be sure to call well in advance of each workshop date (at minimum 2 weeks prior to workshop). If you have any questions, contact Su Legatt at 701-277-8361 or by email suzanne.legatt@ndsu.edu

Workshops that do not reach minimuch number of participants will be cancelled. Registered students would be notified of cancellations approximately 2 weeks prior to the scheduled workshop.

February 7th: Print-a-Thon
Join NDSU students in this collaborative print party! Create unique images using various print methods.

March 7th: Clay-Raoke
In a new interpretation of the classic past time, students will work with our instructor to create collaborative cups.

April 4th: Wild Side of the Brain
In this high energy workshop, you will learn to tap into the wild side of your brain to create unique pieces.

May 2nd: Secrets of Art History
Shh...This workshop tells all the dirty little secrets and behind-the-scene stories of our favorite artists.
